Mechanical Design
Product mechanical design that accounts for development cost and manufacturability, anticipating mass-production issues up front.
Performed in-house by FOTHG Technology.
01For
When you need this
- CASE 01
You have an exterior design and need internal structures and parts that can actually be manufactured
- CASE 02
You need to develop a new product without in-house mechanical engineers
- CASE 03
You want to improve the assembly, cost or manufacturability of an existing product
02Scope
Scope & deliverables
- 013D part & assembly modeling
- 022D manufacturing drawings with tolerances
- 03Assembly & interference review
- 04Mold-ready design (draft, wall thickness, ribs, bosses)
- 05Bill of materials (BOM)
03Process
How it works
- 01
Requirements review
We confirm specifications, internal components, operating environment and target cost.
- 02
Layout & structure
We decide PCB and component layout, fastening methods and part split.
- 03
Detailed 3D design
Parts and assemblies are modeled and checked for interference and assembly.
- 04
Drawings & tooling
We produce 2D drawings and a BOM, and incorporate mold review feedback.

05FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q01Can I request mechanical design only, without industrial design?
Yes. If you have an exterior design or existing product data, we can start directly from mechanical design. If not, we can begin with product design.
Q02Which CAD software do you use?
We work in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Deliverable formats — native files or neutral formats such as STEP and IGES — are agreed per project.
Q03Can you improve the design of an existing product?
Yes. Based on your drawings or 3D data, we review assembly, part count and mold structure, and redesign accordingly.
Have a product in development?
A rough sketch is enough to start. Send us your inquiry and we will reply within 5 business days.
