FAQ

FAQ

Frequently asked questions on quotes, timelines, partial engagements, NDAs and CAD file formats before starting a product development project.

01

Requests & Quotes

Q01What do I need to start a consultation?

Idea notes, a sketch or photos of reference products are enough to start. Sharing target specs, expected volume, schedule and budget range helps us propose a more accurate scope.

Q02How is the quote calculated?

It depends on the scope (which stages from design to molding), product size and part count, structural complexity and schedule. After defining the scope together, we propose a quote for each stage.

Q03How long does it take to receive a reply?

We reply by email or phone within 5 business days.

Q04Can I request only design or only mechanical design?

Yes. You can request any of product design, mechanical design, mockup, mold or injection molding on its own — or everything from idea to production.

02

Process & Schedule

Q01How long does development take?

It varies widely with product complexity and scope. We propose a schedule for each stage after consultation — let us know if you have a target date.

Q02How will I know how the project is going?

We share the deliverables of each stage — sketches, renderings, 3D data, drawings — and move on after your review and feedback.

Q03Can I visit your office?

Yes. Visits require an appointment — choose 'Request a visit' in the contact form.

Q04Can clients outside Incheon or Korea work with you?

Yes. Projects can run by email and phone, and we arrange in-person meetings when needed.

03

Design & Data

Q01Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, on request we sign a non-disclosure agreement before work begins. Select the NDA option when requesting a quote.

Q02Which CAD software do you use?

We work in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Delivery formats — native files or neutral formats such as STEP and IGES — are agreed per project.

Q03Can we start from my existing drawings or 3D data?

Yes. We review your data first, then continue with design refinement or move straight to mockup or mold making.

04

Production

Q01Can you handle small production volumes?

The right mold type and production method depend on volume. Share your expected quantity during consultation and we will review suitable options with you.

Q02How are mockups, molds and molding handled?

We work with trusted mockup, mold and molding partners, while FOTHG Technology manages design data, schedule and quality as a single point of contact.

Have a product in development?
